Chicken Hall  which will be built this summer as part of Heron Hall, is a newly registered project with the Living Building Challenge and currently the smallest project registered in the world!

The coop will be built this summer as Heron Hall itself is completed.

“Going through the exercise for even a simple structure like a chicken coop is still valuable” – says McLennan… and hopefully the eight future chickens appreciate it!

Chicken Hall will meet the energy petal by virtue of not using energy, with all water for its avian occupants from captured rainwater.  All waste is easily turned into valuable, nitrogen rich compost for the site!  All construction materials consist of FSC and salvaged red-list free materials locally sourced.
