As 2015 drew to a close framing was well underway at Heron Hall. Smallwood Construction has been busy with beginning framing for kitchen and stair walls with FSC wood and three dimensional shape of the home is now being revealed! All framed walls are double walls, with staggered studs, insulated headers and essentially no thermal bridging.
Beautiful salvaged wood beams and a concrete bond beam ties the rammed earth together.
Special thank you to Sirewall USA for finishing up the rammed earth.
Special thank you to Smallwood Construction for starting framing and coordinating construction during the winter months.
Special thank you to Knauff, Sustainable Northwest Wood, and Prosoco for special support and involvment during this phase of work.
