Jason F. McLennan Receives ENR's Award of Excellence

We are proud to announce that Jason F. McLennan has received Engineering News Record’s distinguished Award of Excellence.

The award, which has historically been given to contractors and engineers for large-scale projects such as skyscrapers, highways, and dams, is seen among leaders in the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry as a top honor and has only rarely been given to architects – with only one other award given in recognition of an architect’s work over the award’s 51-year history.

By honoring Jason and his work, which includes leadership in development of the Living Building Challenge and the International Living Future Institute (which helped to inform the design Seattle’s renowned Bullitt Center – the world’s largest certified Living Building to date) – ENR is recognizing a critical shift in the industry toward the need to design and build with respect for the natural world and on creating equity through the built environment.

Watch Jason’s acceptance speech where he inspires the industry to step up and also announces the Green Warrior Society:

Also check out this great video by ENR on the story of Jason’s development of the Living Building Challenge and his movement to carry the construction industry across the threshold to a more sustainable future:
