LITTLE DUCK EGGS

Great news!

We have begun preparation for construction of Heron Hall!  We were about to start construction and as the way of things usually is, an unexpected obstacle arose.  As we began clearing the site for construction in the spring of 2015 we discovered a little nest of duck eggs from our little avian neighbors who live close by at the estuary.  We decided to hit the pause button on further clearing until the little ducklings hatched.  The mother duck stood close guard by her nest as we marked the perimeter of her abode with a construction fence to protect her area and avoid disturbance during the nesting period.

In hindsight, isn’t it fitting that the construction of what will become one of the world’s greenest homes was delayed in order to protect a duck nest full of eggs!

We’ll check back in soon with more updates!
